She released her debut single, Here in 2015. She was only aged 19. It was an instant hit, and both critics and the fans were awed by the song. It peaked at number 19 among both Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the best songs from 2015. The same year, she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks that reached the heights of Billboard charts, including the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. It was a special track as, due to her Rap-Up interview she gave many of those who heard her tracks could understand her story of growing to accept themselves as a person while battling with her. Cara is known for infusing lyrics about mental health care and self-love into her music. Her music is inspired by her own personal experience as she struggled with mental health issues and insomnia. According to an Reuters interview, she describes the album as being half turbulent as well as half-perfected. Therapy made her stronger and she encourages others to do the same. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th day of July 1996. When she was just 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar which became the foundation of her musical passion. Three years later at age 13, she began covering her favorite songs via YouTube an important media platform for the world to showcase that she had the talents as well as the courage to make it the next singer. One of her covers Sweater Weather became the single which got her attention by EP Entertainment. They allowed her to write and record the songs she composed.
